Why is Disney is not representing minorities???

Disney is a prestigious entertainment media outlet. For some time, people of color raised awareness of the lack of representation on Disney’s shows. Disney started adding a few darker skin complexion characters. But the Latinx community was still concerned about their lack of representation. When Disney came out with the movie Coco, many opinions were stated. Many individuals were happy that this film included characters of Hispanic nationality. Not to mention, the voices behind the characters were also Latinx actors. This film was also inspired by people and cultural places from a state in Mexico known as Michoacán. The film itself included a variety of things that represented the culture accurately. The overall idea of this movie was focused on a Mexican national holiday known as the day of death. However, Disney encountered some issues because they did not give credit to the main character who inspired this money. Many claims were made that Disney what’s getting their pockets full of money with this film, but the main character lived under poor circumstances back in Mexico. Despite all the issues, this movie was described as a breaking borders film—the main idea connected to the political problem with the Mexican border, trump, and immigrants.

  Immigrants from different countries have been trying to cross over to the United States. Greg Abbott, the governor of Texas, bussed several immigrants from the Texas border to Washington D.C. Many people are not content with this. The real question here is, why did he do this first? Beto O’Rourke stated that this was just another political stunt done by Greg Abbott. Beto also mentions that Greg has not done a thing to improve the safety of Texas or, in fact, the security of the country. People have different opinions about this. Twitter is flooded with tweets about these buses arriving in Washington. Many people are happy that they are helping immigrants.   Where does the Latinx community stand when it comes to voting? Latinxs do not engage in politics for many reasons. In 2020 Latinxs were predicted to impact the 2020 presidential election significantly. During the election campaigns, some political campaigns in the state of Nevada turned to Latinxs with the goal of obtaining their vote. In her article, Calderon describes the Latinx community as a sleeping giant when it comes to voting. This means that Latinxs are known for not participating in voting.
