How does the Latinx community receive their news???!!!

 Different news outlets distribute news around the world. For example, here in the United States, some of the most known news channels are Foxnews, CNN, and the NYT. Some Latinx individuals do not speak English, so, likely, they aren't involved with English news outlets. So, where do Spanish-speaking individuals get their news from? Many channels, podcasts, and digital sources distribute information in Spanish. Some of these sources are Telemundo, Univision, Remezcla, CNN en espanol and many more. These sites allow individuals to connect with the world by providing different resources through their sites. In many cases, individuals can contact these sites to ask for any civil help with any issue. For example, let's talk about how Ashley Acosta. Ashley was in a fatal car accident where she lost her unborn 7-month son, and days later, she also died. Ashley lived here in Atlanta, and unfortunately, her mom is in Mexico. The mom wanted to come and see her baby girl, but that's impossible because of her legal status. Mom was trying to get a visa that allowed her to go to the U.S to see her daughter one last time. However, USCIS denied her application; all these media outlets have been speaking about the subject nonstop. These news sites are reporting the news of Ashley in the hope of a change. Will Ashley's mom be able to obtain her visa before her funeral? What do you think about this issue?

    The lack of involvement with news channels is completely understandable. If I did not speak English or had a harder time understanding it, I would not attempt to watch the news or read articles either. When news stations and sources distribute information in Spanish, people who do not speak English may feel a sense of inclusion. The issue about Ashley and her mom is tragic and unfair. Obtaining citizenship is not a short and simple process. They should make exceptions for matters similar to these. Great post!

  Immigrants from different countries have been trying to cross over to the United States. Greg Abbott, the governor of Texas, bussed several immigrants from the Texas border to Washington D.C. Many people are not content with this. The real question here is, why did he do this first? Beto O’Rourke stated that this was just another political stunt done by Greg Abbott. Beto also mentions that Greg has not done a thing to improve the safety of Texas or, in fact, the security of the country. People have different opinions about this. Twitter is flooded with tweets about these buses arriving in Washington. Many people are happy that they are helping immigrants. On the other hand, some say negative things such as “send them back to where they came from .”Some people are also mad because they believe that Greg plays politics with people’s lives.   Where does the Latinx community stand when it comes to voting? Latinxs do not engage in politics for many reasons. In 2020 Latinxs were predicted to impact the 2020 presidential election significantly. During the election campaigns, some political campaigns in the state of Nevada turned to Latinxs with the goal of obtaining their vote. In her article, Calderon describes the Latinx community as a sleeping giant when it comes to voting. This means that Latinxs are known for not participating in voting. To begin with, there is a considerable lack of representation in politics towards Latinxs. However, it was projected that in 2020 for the first time in history, Latinxs were going to be the largest racial and ethnic minority group to vote (Calderon, 2020).
